Location & Lodging

Friday Reception: First Amendment Center

Our conference opens on Friday night, March 29, at the First Amendment Center, 1207 18th Ave. S., Nashville, TN 37212 (adjacent to Vanderbilt University). Parking is available in the two-story garage directly across from the center.

About Lipscomb University

The Saturday portion of the conference will take place at Lipscomb University in the Ezell Center (building No. 49 on the campus map), which is accessed from Belmont Boulevard. You can find directions and a campus map at https://www.lipscomb.edu/about/directions-lipscomb.

You may park near the Beaman Library (building No. 37 on the campus map), around the softball field, or in the P-2 parking garage, all accessed from Belmont Boulevard.

Booking lodging

Since the conference is not at a hotel, conference attendees are encouraged to book their lodging on their own. Below is a list of hotels mostly outside of downtown Nashville (which can be quite expensive), but they are still an easy drive to Lipscomb. Two convenient Nashville areas are Green Hills and Brentwood/Maryland Farms.

You might also consider Nashville’s numerous Airbnb and VRBO offerings, often located in culturally rich neighborhoods at lower costs than high-demand hotels. Some local journalists can also offer spare rooms — inquire about this option at spjmidtn@gmail.com.
